Understanding Air Quality Index (AQI)
What is AQI?
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a numerical scale that indicates how clean or polluted the air is, and what associated health concerns people should be aware of.
The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health risk.
Health Recommendations
- 0-50 (Good): Enjoy outdoor activities
- 51-100 (Moderate): Consider reducing prolonged outdoor exertion for sensitive groups
- 101-150 (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups): Sensitive groups should reduce prolonged outdoor exertion
- 151-200 (Unhealthy): Everyone should reduce prolonged outdoor exertion
- 201-300 (Very Unhealthy): Everyone should avoid outdoor activities
- 301+ (Hazardous): Everyone should avoid all outdoor exertion
